amyloidosis kidneyamyloidosis kidney2The most common and most serious because of its ill-effects on renal function.the deposits in kidney are found in most cases of secondary amyloidosis and in about 1/3rd cases of primary amyloidosis.

GROSSLY: Kidneys may appear normal, enlarged, or terminally contracted due to ischeamic effect of narrowing of vascular lumina. the Cut surface is Pale, Waxy and Translucent  with loss of cortico-medullary distinction
